Goodbye 2013 ~ Hello 2014!

Happy New Year everyone! Welcome to my first blog post of the new year. Everyone has gone back to work and school and it's time to reflect on the last business year and plan for the coming year.

Looking back at 2013, I'll be honest, it was a very quiet year for weddings for me. My fourth year of self employment (16th year of photographing!) was quite tough. Maybe the combination of recession and superstition - 13?

One highlight was photographing a wedding near Whitby. I had photographed the bride's sister's wedding a couple of years ago. It was lovely to see them all again and great to get a recommendation from a past bride.

I also launched "Portrait in the Park". Only a few customers so far but it takes time for the word to get out.  I'm hoping to do more portrait work this year.

Looking forward to 2014, I have a few weddings in familiar venues and a couple in new venues. I'm looking forward to being back at Longhirst Hall, Lumley Castle and Beamish Hall. I'm also thrilled to be photographing a wedding at the impressive Otterburn Castle in Northumberland.

Thank you to everyone who supported me during 2013 and I'm looking forward to working with old and new friends in 2014!
