It was a bright day at the beginning of August when I met this couple to do an engagement photo shoot at Bolam Lake in Northumberland. They brought along their dogs who got in on a couple of photographs.
This couple weren't keen on having their photograph taken so this photo shoot was to give them a bit of practise before the wedding day and show them how I work.
The bride loves Bolam Lake for walking the dogs so they were keen to have their photos there when I suggested it as a location.
I spotted a gap in the bushes which framed them nicely standing on one of the jetties.
As we walked around the lake, the light in the trees caught my eye so we did a "walking with the dogs" shot.
We headed for the boardwalk which makes a striking picture.
The dogs looked so cute tied up to the side, watching so I couldn't resist this one of them looking at the couple, willing them to come and let them off the lead.
A quick shot of the engagement ring and then a picture in front of the lake and we were finished.
Afterwards, the bride to be said "Gillian made us feel at ease straight away!"
