I love this shot with both bridesmaids adjusting their shoes and choosing to steady themselves on the same poor usher!

Here we are, mid-way through 2012 and the most recent booking I've taken is for...April 2014. As the bride said "A while away but never too early to start!" Obviously you book your venue and date first, and with so many of the top venues being so popular, your wedding date could be 18 months away. That seems like a lot of time to get things organised but you'd be surprised at how quickly that time can fly!
It's best to get your photographer booked as early as possible. Then you know that you've got the photographer that you really want and it'll be one of the most important things ticked off your list.
Do remember though, that you'll pay a retainer to secure the booking which will be non-refundable if you change your mind further down the line. Even if you cancel with plenty of time to spare, it's still to compensate the photographer for any enquiries for your date that they turned down because they were booked to photograph your wedding.

Something a bit different again this week. If you've been over to my fine art blog you'll have already seen this photo. I just sold a copy of it and have a canvas on my bathroom wall. I love the zingy freshness of the leaf and the sparkling raindrops.

I've just entered the North of England Wedding Awards. These awards are recognising excellent customer service which is extremely important, especially when it comes down to services for your big day.
So if you're one of my past bride or grooms, please could you take five minutes to vote for me. It is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Voting closes on Friday 27th July.
